Tags: Hurricane, summer's end

porch swing gone, rocker gone, bench gone, woodpile gone, plants gone - waiting...
Started the day buying bottled water, other necessaries. Worked hard with Eddie to clear the porch, the patio, to avoid flying debris. Nervous about possibilities, each part of the East Coast sparking particular concerns. Feels like this summer which was so rich and nourishing for me is over, ending in a somber way...

May we all be protected from Nature's rage.

    This is a lovely piece. Its nostalgia borders on gentle melancholy in anticipation of "nature's rage." This begs the question, rage at what? Nature churns even when it is unmolested. Subject to human avarice, it truly becomes enraged since the folly of humankind in its carbon fixation and appetites endangers all of the Creator's living works.
